Kringla Apartment 1

Had a lovely stay in the apartment, clean modern and comfortable.  Very lucky with the weather and had a great time.

The best sleep I have had in years!  The apartment is beautiful and has the home feel, good location for visiting all the sites.  We have loved every minute of our stay and sad to leave!  Thank you Kay!

Kringla was recommended by my friend who stayed here in 2016.  It's excellent!  Spacious, warm, comfy and well located.  A lovely base for our first amazing visit to Orkney!  Thannk you.  Hope to come back soon to explore more of those beautiful islands.

We were very lucky to get a late booking in Kringla 1.  The weather was atrocious! but undaunted we have seen much and had a great time.  Dounby is a great location, good shops.  Kringla 1 has been very comfortable and warm.  We hope to return.

Terrific Cottage with absolutely everything we needed!  First visit to Orkney, and we’ll have to come back... I reckon we’ve found the perfect accommodation.

First visit to Orkney and certainly chose the best place to stay!  Kringla 1 apartment fantastic and it is certainly a home from home – warm, clean and comfortable.  Look forward to returning!

Had a lovely restful week – loved the beaches, the archaeology and the rock pooling in Birsay.  Fantastic comfortable home, more than we could have wished for!

It has been a pleasure to stay in Kringla - the best appointed and thought through place of its kind ever!  And Dounby is a brilliant place from which to visit (in our case) Stromness and the Pier Art Gallery, the Broch of Gurness, the cairns, brochs and knowes and of course, our favourite for a long time, the Ring of Brodgar (this year against a background of mysterious cloud).  The Dounby butcher lived up to its reputation and the Co-op was both useful and friendly. Thank you Kay!  Please tell Alastair his eggs were delicious! Yum!

We were delighted to find a pretty, modern, very well appointed apartment from which to enjoy our Orkney ‘adventure’. Kay’s welcome was warm and informative. The welcome pack a very nice touch with beautiful eggs from their farm. Happy to recommend Kringla as a great place to stay!

From the history of Skara Brae, Broch of Gurness and Maeshowe to the wonderful walking to the Old Man of Hoy and Marwick Head to Brough of Birsay to the birds of Westray, we have had the most wonderful week.  Thank you Kay for such comfortable and extremely well appointed accommodation (with the all-important cafetiere!).  I hope it will not be too long until we return.

What a perfect place to begin an Orkney Adventure, well thought out accommodation; everything has been thought of, even an extra buggy thrown in! Much appreciated goodies on arrival give a lovely touch.  Especially enjoyed Skara Brae, Scapa Flow and the standing stones.  Look forward to returning to see more of what Orkney has to offer.

Had a wonderful stay at Kringla. Cosy, comfortable with all the facilities.  Felt like a home away from home.

We have had a fantastic 9 days in Orkney, have seen and done so much.  Dounby is an excellent centre for exploring the West and East Mainland, so handy with the “open-all-hours” Co-op nearly opposite Kringla!  Thank you Kay for your warm welcome and daily bulletins and this lovely and very well equipped apartment.  We would be very happy to stay here again.  We shall have many fond memories of Orkney, beautiful scenery and wild life, even puffins!

Our second visit to the Orkney Islands and again we had a great time.  The house is perfect, cosy, warm and the beds are excellent.  See you in a couple of years.
